DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 500 PM AST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Eighteen
was located near latitude 10.1 North, longitude 33.9 West. The
depression is moving toward the west near 15 mph (24 km/h) and this
motion is expected to continue for the next day or so followed by a
gradual turn to the west-northwest by Friday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Strengthening is forecast over the next several days. The
depression is forecast to become a tropical storm by tomorrow, and
could be near hurricane intensity by the weekend.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb (29.77 inches).

Aquí informándome con todas sus buenas aportaciones y conocimientos. Me parece que el sistema por ahora tiene una leve tendencia a pasar al Noreste del arco de las Antillas, aunque entiendo que eso puede cambiar. El sube y baja de trayectoria puede seguir mientras todavía hay tanta incertidumbre en los modelos. Hay que seguir vigilantes y no podemos bajar la guardia.

Esto lo habiamos visto que en casi todos los modelos, 14N- 50W era un pronostico casi seguro del NHC. Que bueno que se formo, por que ahora es mas seguro seguirla y la expectativa de las trayectorias, lo hace mas interesante.

IN TE RE SAN TEE
Only 6 majors have approached the Leewards (south of 20N, west of 50W) in the second half of September since 1950. Just 2 of those missed the Leewards, including last year's Teddy - that also formed dangerously far south, near where TD #Eighteen is now.

Gratos recuerdos vienen a mi mente al ver esta gráfica.
Como si hubiese sido ayer, recuerdo haberme bañado en traje de Adán en el aguacero que cayó durante el paso del ciclón Inez.
La familia vivía justo al lado de una quebrada que daba al rio que bordea la periferia de la ciudad de Santo Domingo y nos tuvimos que mover a casa de un pariente que vivía apenas unos metros más arriba.
Tanto una como la otra casa eran de madera y zinc e igual se las hubiera llevado el ciclón de haber azotado...me parece que Inez era un C4, y por suerte pasó lejos al sur, rozando la costa suroeste, donde sí hizo estragos y mató gente.
Nunca subestimen la inteligencia y/o los sentimientos y la capacidad de razonamiento de un infante, sobre todo cuando se dan fenómenos como estos.
Por alguna razón, parece que se agudiza la manera en que uno percibe las cosas y quedan detalles grabados en la memoria como si fuera en piedra.
Yo apenas tenía 3 años y a pesar de que no fue una experiencia traumática ni mucho menos, recuerdo claramente aquella tarde de aquel aguacero que dejó Inez a su paso.( por cierto era llamado entonces como "Inés")
