DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 800 AM AST (1200 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Isaac was
located near latitude 15.2 North, longitude 60.9 West. Isaac is
moving faster toward the west near 21 mph (33 km/h). This general
motion is forecast to continue today with a decrease in forward
speed over the Caribbean Sea. On the forecast track, Isaac should
move across the central Lesser Antilles and into the eastern
Caribbean Sea later today, and then move across the eastern and
central Caribbean Sea through the weekend.
Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher
gusts. Little change in strength is expected over the next several
hours as Isaac moves through the Leeward Islands. Gradual weakening
is forecast after that as Isaac moves through the eastern Caribbean.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 160 miles (260 km)
from the center.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
RAINFALL: Tropical Storm Isaac is expected to produce total
rainfall accumulations of 2 to 4 inches with isolated amounts up to
6 inches across Martinique, Dominica, and Guadeloupe, especially
over elevated terrain. Rainfall of 0.5 to 1.5 inches with isolated
amounts to 3 inches are forecast across Puerto Rico and the southern
United States Virgin Islands, with up to an inch anticipated across
the remaining Windward and Leeward Islands. This rainfall may cause
dangerous flash flooding.
WIND: Tropical storm conditions are expected within the tropical
storm warning area beginning within the next few hours through the
afternoon. Tropical storm conditions are possible within the
tropical storm watch area, also beginning later this morning.
STORM SURGE: Some coastal flooding is possible in areas of onshore
winds. Near the coast, the surge will be accompanied by large
waves.
SURF: Swells generated by Isaac are affecting portions of the
Lesser Antilles. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening
surf and rip current conditions. Please consult products from your
local weather office.

observations near latitude 14.9 North, longitude 61.8 West. Isaac is
moving toward the west near 20 mph (31 km/h). A westward track with
a slower forward motion is forecast to continue for the next few
days. On the forecast track, Isaac should move farther away from
Lesser Antilles today, and then move across the eastern and central
Caribbean Sea through the weekend.

few days. Isaac should move farther away from Lesser Antilles
today, and then move across the eastern and central Caribbean Sea
through the weekend.
Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 40 mph (65 km/h) with

Parece que el "shear" ha bajado permitiendo que lo que queda de Isaac tenga un nuevo impulso de energia en el centro de circulacion. La velocidad de traslacion obviamente no lo ayuda, pero parece un "comeback" a mi entender.De ser asi puede que mantenga categoria de tormenta por un tiempo mas.

DISCUSION Y PRONOSTICO

A las 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC), el centro de la Depresion Tropical
Isaac estaba localizado cerca de la latitud 14.9 norte, longitud
67.3 oeste. La depresion se mueve hacia el oeste a cerca de 16 mph
(26 km/h) y se espera que continue este movimiento general con una
disminucion en la velocidad de traslacion durante los proximos dias.
Un giro hacia el oeste noroeste durante la proxima semana si Isaac
sobrevive. En la trayectoria pronosticada, Isaac se movera sobre el
este y centro del Mar Caribe durante los proximos dias.
Los vientos maximos sostenidos han disminuido a cerca de 35 mph (55
km/h) con rafagas mas altas. Se pronostica que Isaac se debilite
gradualmente durante los proximos dias, y pudiera degradarse a una
onda tropical en cualquier momento. Un avion cazahuracanes de NOAA
esta actualmente en ruta a investigar la depresion.
La presion minima central estimada es de 1007 mb (29.74 pulgadas).

pulgadas son posibles a traves del sur central de la Republica
Dominicana, suroeste de Haiti y Jamaica. Esta lluvia pudiera causar
inundaciones repentinas amenazantes a vida.

A las 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC), el centro de la Depresion Tropical
Isaac estaba localizado cerca de la latitud 14.9 norte, longitud
67.3 oeste. La depresion se mueve hacia el oeste a cerca de 16 mph
(26 km/h) y se espera que continue este movimiento general con una
disminucion en la velocidad de traslacion durante los proximos dias.
Un giro hacia el oeste noroeste durante la proxima semana si Isaac
sobrevive. En la trayectoria pronosticada, Isaac se movera sobre el
este y centro del Mar Caribe durante los proximos dias.
Los vientos maximos sostenidos han disminuido a cerca de 35 mph (55
km/h) con rafagas mas altas. Se pronostica que Isaac se debilite
gradualmente durante los proximos dias, y pudiera degradarse a una
onda tropical en cualquier momento. Un avion cazahuracanes de NOAA
esta actualmente en ruta a investigar la depresion.
La presion minima central estimada es de 1007 mb (29.74 pulgadas).

LLUVIA: Se espera que Isaac genere acumulaciones de lluvia de 2 a 3
pulgadas con cantidades aisladas de hasta 5 pulgadas a traves del
sureste de las Islas de Puerto Rico. Totales de lluvia de 1 a 2
pulgadas con cantidades maximas de 3 pulgadas son posibles a traves
del resto de Puerto Rico, Islas Virgenes estadounidenses, las Islas
de Sotavento y el norte de las Islas de Barlovento. Totales de
lluvia de 2 a 3 pulgadas con cantidades maximas aisladas de 4
pulgadas son posibles a traves del sur central de la Republica
Dominicana, suroeste de Haiti y Jamaica. Esta lluvia pudiera causar
inundaciones repentinas amenazantes a vida.
